Obituary for Annie Keen

Annie O’neal Keen 72 of Bridgeport, Connecticut entered eternal rest on Monday, January 8, 2018 at the Smilow Cancer Center at Yale New Haven Hospital.

She was born February 22, 1945, in Williston, SC., to the late Larry and Lucille Mitchell O’neal. At an early age she became converted, baptized and joined the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Williston, SC. She was a graduate of the Kelly Edwards High School Class of 1962.

Upon graduation she moved to New York. She eventually moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut, continuing her walk with the Lord, she joined the First Baptist Church of Stratford. She served diligently and faithfully on the Finance Committee.

Annie was gainfully employed with General Electric for 35 (thirty-five) years. Upon retiring from “G.E.” she was employed with Burlington Coat Factory for 14 (fourteen) years.
She was united in Holy Wedlock to Clarence E. Keen Sr., who predeceased her on December 23, 2017. She was also predeceased by (3) eight of her siblings, Larry, Raymond, Essro, Simon, Willie Tom, Lillie Mae, Bernice and Louise.

Annie loved and adored her family. She had a special place in each and every one of their hearts; the joy of her life were her grandchildren and 5 great grands.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Clarence, Jr., Lamont and Maurice Keen; a daughter, Lawayna Keen of Bridgeport; two sisters, Dessie (John) Savage and Annie Mae (Lewis) Gray; one brother Albert (Gale) O’neal; three brothers-in-law, Martin (Mae) Keen, Richard (Vivian) Keen and Louis (Rhunetta) Keen; two sisters-in-law, Mildred O’neal and Catherine Keen; eleven grandchildren, five great grand children and a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.
