Obituary for Debbie C. Verner

Debbie Verner was born July 1, 1962, to the late Marion Verner and Hattie (Wright) Josey in Bridgeport, CT. She entered eternal rest September 19, 2017. She was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport. She attended the Catholic school system and Gateway Community College where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Dietary Management.

Debbie was employed 30 years as the dietary supervisor at the Carolton Convalescent Home in Fairfield and most recently she became employed in the dietary department at Stamford Hospital. Debbie was a disciple of Mt. Nebo Full Gospel Baptist Church.

Debbie was not only a loving mother who cared for her children but to all children. She was a great cook and would feed everyone. She was a hard worker, a loving sister and daughter. She was a God fearing woman who loved the Lord and loved going to church. Her favorite T.V. show was the Soap Opera’s “General Hospital”.

She was predeceased by her step father, Edward Josey. She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Rashae Verner of Ansonia, John and Marc Verner of Bridgeport; a special son, Nelson Hines of Bridgeport; two daughters, Tiana and Cassandra Verner of Bridgeport; her mother Hattie Wright Josey of West Haven; three brothers, Mark and Anthony Verner of Bridgeport; James Josey of West Haven; two sister Miriam Haddadin of NJ; Lisa Josey of Bridgeport; five grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.
