Obituary for Jamir Rawlings

Jamir Onte’ Rawlings son of Aaron Freelove and Geneva Rawlings was born January 3, 1989 in Bridgeport, CT. He entered eternal rest August 3, 2018.

He attended the Bridgeport Public School and graduated from Central High School in 2007. He later attended Bridgeport Hospital Emergency Medical Institute where he became a Certified Medical Technician (EMT) in February 2014. He was also employed at the RBS fitness center in Stamford, CT.

Jamir dedicated his life to Christ at Turner’s Faith Temple (Cathedral of Praise COGIC International) at an early age. He later became an active member at Victory Outreach Ministries which he attended for several years. At the time of his passing, he was a member of City Wide church where he served under Pastor Luis Burgos. Jamir had a love for God and a passion to serve.

Jamir had such a free spirit and a love for his family and God. He was a determined hard working young man who didn’t allow anything or anyone to stand in the way of his dreams and passions.

Jamir was so much to all of us; a friend, confidant, listening ear and motivator. Although Jamir was an introvert, he was very comical and left a lasting impression on those he met. Besides family and God his true passion was wrestling and UFC fighting; he attended several UFC fights. Jamir had dreams of becoming a wrestler and even signed up weeks before his passing.

He was predeceased by his father, Aaron Freelove, Sr., grandfathers, Stephen Smith and Johnny Williams, great grandfather, Moses Freelove and Walter Rawlings and Clinton Rogers, grandmothers, Freddie Mae Freelove, great grandmothers, Molly Rogers and Naomi Beal.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, Geneva Rawlings, 3 brothers, Aaron Freelove, Timothy Grasty and Noel Rawlings, 2 sisters, Alisha Freelove and Nia Rawlings all of Bridgeport, CT; grandmother, Grace Smith of Bridgeport, CT; grandfather, Bobbylee Rawlings of Goldsboro, NC; his aunt, Mother Alice Johnson of Bridgeport, CT; uncles, Robert Rogers, Lloyd (Andrea) Freelove both of Waycross, GA; Bobby Rawlings Jr., of San Leandro, CA; Josiah Rawlings of Charlotte, NC; aunts, Jacqueline (Richard) Sewell and Delphine (Michael) Clyburn both of New Haven, CT; Nekeva (Robert) Miller, Sereva Manuel both of Virginia Beach, VA; Charlene Haynes of Naugatuck, CT; Tonya Daye and Ayonna Raynor of Atlanta, GA; nieces, Samiyah Freelove and Mariah Freelove both of Bridgeport, CT; his very close cousins, Roteesea, Robert, RaKiyah, Khalil, Trinity and Daisha; 2 cousins he considered brothers, Tommy and Lionel.
