Obituary for Jesse B Womble

Jessie B. Womble, age 73, entered into eternal rest Friday, July 20, 2018 at Saint Vincent Medical Center. He was born June 18, 1945 in Vance, MS to the late Cairo and Bertha Womble. He was a resident of Bridgeport, CT where he spent most of his life.

Jessie was united in Holy Matrimony to Hilda Roberta Lyles on June 27, 1979 until her death July 16, 2009.

Jessie dedicated his life to Christ in 1971. He was a faithful member of Pentecostal Church of Prayer & Deliverance where he served on the Deacon board since 2002. Jessie was a compassionate exceptional man, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and most important a child of the most high God. He loved the Lord our God with all his heart, soul, and mind.

He had a beautiful, caring, wonderful, and loving spirit about him that we all loved to gravitate to.

He was one of a kind and could turn anyone’s frown into a smile. Jessie had a natural funny personality and there was always laughter in his soul which was very contagious. He was that favorite uncle, friend and family member. He enjoyed watching sports and westerns in his spare time, also while in his presence he had you watching reruns of shows like Perry Mason, Heat of the Night, and The Andy Griffith show from dawn until dusk (Smile).

He was loved and will truly be missed and cherished to all that knew him. Rest in peace our precious Jessie. Your purpose here on earth has been fulfilled and you have received your reward of eternal life. II Corinthians 5:8 reads to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. One day we will be reunited again, until then enjoy walking around heaven all day.

His beloved wife, seven brothers, and stepdaughter Sheila preceded Jessie. Left to cherish his loving memories are stepson; Terry Lyles, 3 sister-in laws; Faye Lyles, Carolyn Chesney, and Barbara Womble, special nephew; Floyd Womble (Deborah), special niece; Audra Voyak (Robert) and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
