Obituary for ParaLee McCants

ParaLee “Tina” McCants was born September 10, 1943 in Boykin, AL to Ethel Bendolph and General Lee Pettway. Sunset came September 9th , one day before her 74th birthday in St. Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT.

Tina graduated from Boykin High School in 1961 in Boykin, AL. She was Baptized at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church after High School. She moved to Toledo, OH them back to Mobile, AL and joined Mt. Carmel MBC in Prichard, AL on to Bridgeport, CT where she resided until God called her home.

She retired from Aptar of Stratford, CT., in 2011, after 32 years of service with her co-workers and close friends, Fanny Carey, Gladys Craddock, Geraldine Beal all of who she remained close to until she made her entry to greet her siblings in Heaven.

She was predeceased by 2 sisters, 4 brothers, 3 grand-children, Latia, Ariyanna of Bridgeport; Shamon of NC; 2 great grand children, Zahasia, Chylynn and a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.

She is survived by 2 sons, Edward “Bookie” McCants Jr., (Florence) of Bridgeport, CT; Jason McCants (Angela) 2 sisters, Marie Dortch (Elder Grady Dortch) of Mobile AL; Eartha Irby-Young of Alberta, AL; 3 brothers, Peter C. Bendolph of NY; Shawn “Hank” Shabazz of Bridgeport; Saleem A. Shabazz of Los Vegas, NV.
