Obituaries

BEAVERS – Howard Lee Beavers, Sr., age 75, of Stratford entered eternal rest Monday, July 19, 2010 at Bridgeport Hospital.  Born in Birmingham, AL he was a resident of Connecticut for twenty years.  Howard served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged.  He was a member of St. Luke FWB Church and served as a Trustee and Financial Treasurer.  He was formerly employed as a mechanic for Metro-North for thirty years.  Howard leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Pearl Carter Beavers of Stratford; two sons, Howard (Lorraine) L. Beavers Jr. of Hartford; Robin (Angie) J. Beavers of Bridgeport; four daughters, Phyllis (Jesse) Polite of Bridgeport; Brenda Beavers of MD; Jacqueline Beavers and Kisha Beavers both of Stratford; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
