CARTER William Starlin Carter, age 84, passed away July 19th, 2010 at Bridgeport Hospital. A native of Raleigh, N.C., he resided in Bridgeport for many years. William was the third child of John C. Carter and Ressie Nash Carter. He was a member of the East End Baptist Church. William married Edwina Davis, who preceded him in death and his second marriage to Isabella Taylor ended in divorce. William is survived by a host of relatives and friends, including, three sons, Zay S. Carter (Sharon), Schuyler, Va., Burton E. Carter (Serena) Bridgeport and Ricky L. Carter (Evelyn), Newport News, Va.; two daughters, Theresa Carter Ellis (Willie) and Joyce L. Carter, both of Bridgeport; brother, Wilbert (Linda) Spence, Raleigh, N.C.; sister, Ruth Carter Wallace of New Rochelle, N.Y.
