Jones – Henry Thatcher Jones (Hank) was born on April 18, 1930 in Camden , SC to the late Herbert Jones and the late Janie Kirkland Jones. He departed this life on Sunday, July 25, 2010. In 1953, Henry was united in Holy Matrimony with Sarah C. Scott. To this union he brought two children Henry Jr. and Linda, and together he and Sarah had eight children, Lyle Hassan, Lori, Lowell, Lance, Leonard, Lisa, Lela and Luke. He was employed for thirty-five years as a tow motor operator at William B. Meyers Trucking & Moving Company.  He was an avid fisherman, co-founder and coach of the P.T. Coed Girls Softball Team. Some called Henry their favorite “Uncle”. He was a good neighbor and friend to all!  Left to cherish his most precious moments are: his wife, Sarah Claudia Jones; six sons, Henry, Jr. of Mount Vernon, NY, Lyle Hassan (Pamela), Lowell, Lance, Leonard and Luke all of Bridgeport, CT;  four daughters, Linda  Bailey (Thomas) of Mount Vernon, NY; Lori Jones-Gibbs (Kenneth) of Durham, NC, Lisa Jones-Mendenhall (Darryl) and Lela Brodie (Kirk) of Bridgeport, CT; two sisters, Alice Miller of Bridgeport, CT and Rebecca Helms (Archie) of Dalzell, SC,: one brother, Thomas Jones of Monroe, CT; forty-eight grandchildren and forty-eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and a great host of friends. He was predeceased by one grandson, Amir Langston Jones; two brothers; Herbert Jones, Jr. and David Jones; one sister, Jessie Marrow; and a special aunt, Janie Adamson.
