Obituary for Geneva Howard

Geneva Howard was born October 9, 1940 to the late Irene Anderson and raised by her grandparents Matilda and Robert Smith in Sumter, SC. She entered eternal rest April 7, 2018.

Mother Howard retired after 26 years of services as a Certified Nurses Assistant from The Jewish Home For the Elderly.

She was a faithful and dedicated member and Mother of Cathedral of Praise C.O.G.I.C. International. She was also faithful in attending Sunday School, Bible Study and Abundant Christian Living class.

Mother Howard was known for being a godly wife, mother and a amazing grandmother and friend. She was caring, compassionate and full of life. She was an excellent cook; she was a mentor and hero to her goddaughter Yvonne (Nae) Gathers. She was straight forward when needed to get her point across; she was meticulous in caring for her husband and home as well as a hair presser, washing and ironing clothes (she could literally remove any spot out) lol. Mother Howard loved her family and friends, she was a joy to be around especially at the cook-outs. Mother Howard was a “Warrior” “Fighter” who held on to her faith until she was called home from labor to reward.
