Obituary for Lorrie Williams

Lorrie was born on March 26th, 1953 to Lorraine West in Bridgeport, CT. She was later adopted by Leonard and Winnifred Horner.

Lorrie was a devoted and dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a lifetime Member at First Baptist church of Stratford CT, where as a young women she taught Sunday school and was part of many choirs and ministries, including the health ministry.  She was strong in her faith and displayed that in her walk with the lord through the upbringing of her family.

Lorrie lived her whole life in Stratford and was a graduate of Stratford High School, and The University of Bridgeport with a BA in Science. She loved to travel and see different countries and try new restaurants and really enjoyed going to the movies, musicals and plays. Lorrie’s lifelong passion was to help others and started a career as a registered nurse. She started at Park City Hospital, and worked at Bridgeport Hospital for 19 years. She continued her career as a school nurse for the Bridgeport Board of Education at several different schools and retired in January 2018.

Lorrie loved her two sons and her extended children as well. She was a woman who loved everyone and had time for everyone and touched everyone she came in contact with.

Many people besides her biological children called her “mom” and felt her motherly love. She leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends of her children. She has touched so many in her own way.  Everyone will remember her beautiful smile and infectious laugh.

Lorrie was preceded by her adopted parents and biological mother, also her foster sister Robin Johnson and brother in law Henry Williams and many aunts and uncles.

Lorrie leaves to cherish her memory her loving and lifelong devoted husband Willie Williams, and their two Sons Eugene Williams and his wife Tracy (Love)Williams of East Haven, CT and their two daughters Madison and Emma, son Andre Williams and his fiancee Dineen Sanders of Uncasville, CT and their daughter Averie. One brother Richard West, formerly of Stratford CT and his children, two foster sisters Lucille McClain and Christine Blackwell. She also leaves behind  7 brother in laws and 3 sister in laws  including her longtime best-friend Coretta Williams and her 4 children Ebony, Nikki, Marcus and Sean in which she had a close relationship with and their children, and her special cousin Patricia Carey and her Husband Roland, beloved Aunt Laura Grant and also left to cherish her memory are many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, god children, many other loving relatives and friends that she has touched over her lifetime.
